Camping Saintes Grandes Rives is located in the heart of the town of Saintes, in a magnificent, wooded park on the banks of the river Charente. It is the ideal place from which to discover the magnificent Saintonge region, to explore the local culture and nature, or simply to treat yourself to some rest and relaxation.

The historic center of Saintes, one of the great cities of Roman Gaul, is 10 minutes’ walk away. There you'll discover its exceptional Gallo-Roman heritage, including the Arc de Germanicus, amphitheater, and thermal baths.
Saintes is rich in historical monuments and medieval remains dug out of the soft limestone so typical of our region, such as The Saint-Pierre Cathedral and the Abbaye aux Dames. It’s a wonderful place to stroll through picturesque and lively streets, taste local specialties and barter for regional products.

For those who love nature and sports, the Charente river offers a wide range of water activities and excursions on foot, by bike or by boat.
Take a trip in a traditional gabare or in the Bernard Palissy III (a unique electro-solar flyboat), rent an e-boat or a kayak, go fishing in a sporty or relaxed way, or hike or cycle along one of the many footpaths and cycle tracks. Saintes is at the crossroads of the Flow Vélo, which links Angoulême to the Ile d'Aix in Charente-Maritime, and is an important stopover on the route to Santiago de Compostela.
